This was the appointment was I dreading.
Like, stick bamboo splints up my nails and leave them kind of torture.
I hate this crap.
However, at the end, I'm so happy. Over the mood.
First, I need to give credit to our SR, Jenny. She's patient, kind, and really does right by the customer. I love that. It's a rare find, but she's truly great. She's guided us with patience (I mean, 3 elevation changes, countless amounts of "I don't know", not to mention my husband can be a peach when I'm a mess.
Today, we went in with a plan. To not be dicks and piss off our SR.
We walked away with our house colors, choices, and lots of good feelings.
What we chose:
We decided to stick with the Normandy Elevation C. On our street (the whole 10 houses) everyone had the Elevation K. We're excited that we'll be a little different, plus we have some ideas to stand out even more.
- Color: Pewter
- Trim: White
- Stone: Fieldstone, PA Sierra
- Door: Black (SO excited about this, even though I'll change this out to something prettier than the Ryan Homes standard)
Here was my easiest part for the kitchen. I'm obsessed with Gray and White. I can't help it. I love the combos and I'm definitely a gray girl.
- Cabinets: White all through the top. Gray on the island.
- Counter: Iced White Quartz.
We have this counter in our rental house and I LOVE it. I love white counters. I love quartz. I love this combo. I'm beyond happy.
The floors I'm thinking Misty Gray, but I'm afraid I'll be gray overload. But ... we'll see. I like the model's choices of a little brown to give some warmth. The 18th should be a hoot for my husband who somehow managed to not kill me.
He's just happy he got the 4 car garage, so ... whatever. Men.
Master: I knew I wanted the Hazelnut, so that was a no brainer, but the counter I wanted was discontinued ... blah.
I really love the combo I chose though!
Counter: Granite - Santa Cecilia Light
Cabinet: Tahoe in Cherry
Counters: Stone Arctic Ice
Last thing we had to pick today was the stone fireplace. Considering gray is my theme, I knew I had to stick with that. LOL
I really hope I'm not on gray overload, but I know what I like, and I think they're kind of timeless.
The other thing was we originally picked Nickel for the whole house, but with the Hazelnut being in the bath, we knew that would look like crap. Soooooo, we ended up doing Nickel in the kitchen and brushed bronze the rest of the house. Which, I'm happy about.
The only other thing we added were three "red flags" I want a pocket door in the Master Bath, Rainfall Shower head, moving the attic access (it's in the princess bedroom in the middle of the ceiling. Why not put it in the closet? Stupid), and we asked for something else, but I can't remember.
All in all, I'm very happy. I'm looking through Pinterest to see a few more master bath ideas. Lord help me and all dealing with me.
