I'm beyond excited because the last few weeks we've finally made some headway.
Our pre-construction meeting was 2/5/18. We met with the project manager, site manager, and our SR. It was a great meeting, they were really kind and listened to every concern we had (which I had many). I fee like, thus far, Ryan Homes has been very patient with me and also explained things so that we haven't been ridiculously overwhelmed.
Some things I'm not over the moon about, but there wasn't much we were able to do at this point. For example, I would've not had the house angled as much. I honestly think it's kind of dumb where it's placed on the property, but short of having the engineers redraw everything and get pushed back another two months, we're kind of stuck.
I was really happy with the communication from our site manager as well. He's texted and called letting us know of the delays we had with beginning. We were supposed to have concrete last week, but the rain delayed us quite a bit.
This was last week:
Today, we went by after our SM let us know the water had dried enough by yesterday to pour the footings and were pleasantly surprised to see the foundation walls up!
I've been sitting on my hands to keep myself from going until today. My husband finally caved and agreed to go. It's Valentine's Day and all ...
Anyway, I feel really excited that we're actually moving a little now. I truly can't wait!
