I swear, this process feels like it's taken FOREVER just to get here. It's really maddening for someone like me.
Okay, so we had a bunch of progress, felt like things were happening and then we had a TON of rain. However, that wasn't causing the delays it seemed. There were days where no one was touching the house. Then, we'd feel like progress, and ... nothing.
The worst was the framers. Apparently the original team hired no showed 2 days in a row, and were fired. That set us back a bit.
The new framers were hired and BOOM three days of them working and we have the basement, first floor, and second! AHHHHH! Just in time for a damn snow storm to hit us at the end of March. Unreal.
So this is Feb 15th
Which stayed this way until March 14th!
This was March 16th when the first floor was up.
And this is March 19th!
They're really making progress and it's honestly very exciting. I'm like a little kid driving by each day. That's the one really great thing about living so close to the new house, we can check on things much more often than if we lived farther.
My biggest worry is that we're going away next week which is when things are really supposed to be happening. I won't be able to see much, but I'm really hopeful when I get back from my much needed trip, we'll see a whole house and be ready for our pre-drywall. WHICH they said would be 4/2, but then the other day a comment was made like, "well, it'll be that week."
I truly don't function well without schedules and deadlines, so this is irritating, but I must accept it for what it is.
